Youth Mental Health Accessible Services
Dragonfly started out in 2021 with a dream of making child and youth mental health services accessible at the time help is needed. We have continued working hard at this dream and are proud of how far we have come.
Last year we were able to begin a formal program for our no/low cost counselling program for families with financial barriers - we call it FLY Therapy and it provides individual counselling services to children and youth. Last year we were able to provide 174 no/low cost individual sessions and we are continuing this program again in 2025.
In the early months of 2025 we have already run our Mighty Minds Kids Anxiety group, our Wise Minds Kids Emotion Regulation Group, and currently our first ever Teen Wise Minds group is running. We are able to serve 12 children and their parents in each of these groups and have received wonderful feedback so far. We hope to run these groups again in the fall of 2025.
We are so grateful to the generous support we have received from 100 Women Who Care, Gift of Giving Gala, Unifor, Affinity Credit Union and individual donors. Dragonfly is a nonprofit and a registered charity and without this support from our community our programs could not run.
