Mighty Minds Kids Anxiety Group Testimonials

If you follow our social media you will know that we were able to run our Mighty Minds Kids Anxiety group twice this past school year at no cost to participants! Our kids anxiety group is an 6 week program for children ages 6-11. We use evidence based cognitive behavioural treatment for children with anxiety. Parents/caregivers are also involved in group programming.
We were pleased to see that all of the parents identified improvements both at home and school, and many talked about specific skills and strategies that they have added to their toolbox. We wanted to share some of the feedback we heard from our parents during these sessions. (Not to mention the amazing artwork featured here from one of the children who participated).
"This group helped our child see that she is not the only one who has anxious thoughts. I loved watching her come up with concrete solutions and ways to address her anxiety. We've noticed an improvement since joining the group and the strategies we learned have helped us to help her more effectively.”
"My son's anxiety was impacting his quality of life - from going to school in the morning to going to sleep at night. This class gave me, as a parent, the language to work through the anxiety/fear in the moment with him. The class allowed him to improve his ability to process his emotions in a more beneficial way to his personal well-being.”
“Having free accessible mental health groups for youth is an extremely important resource. The content was delivered in a manner that all ages and abilities can participate equally. I am so thankful for agencies like Dragonfly for offering these groups! I tell all my parent friends about it as the skills reviewed can be applied to every child, not just anxious youth!”
As always we want to thank the Gift of Giving Gala, 100 Women Who Care, and Unifor for their generous donations who helped make these groups available at no cost to participants.
Dragonfly is a mental health charity specializing in children, youth, and families and we rely on donations to offer our accessible programs. If you are interested in helping - please reach out!
