Individual and Family Counselling

Our clinicians bring years of experience in mental health settings supporting a wide range of emotional and behavioural needs. That experience shapes how we understand behaviour, involve parents, and build practical strategies that work in everyday family life.

We are intentional about aligning our work with established best practices, including active parent involvement and evidence-based approaches. We partner closely with parents to support lasting change beyond the therapy room.

Our team provides counselling for many concerns. These include mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and disordered eating. We can also work with families who are struggling with challenging/disruptive behaviours, anger management, and emotional regulation difficulties.

We are able to see children, youth, adults, and parents/caregivers for individual counselling. During the initial session we will tailor a plan that will work for your unique situation. Because we specialize in services for children, youth, and families we know how important it is to include parents/caregivers in our treatment plan. This involvement will vary from one plan to another, but this will be part of the discussion during the initial session for any child or youth.

We are also able to work with families who are experiencing conflict or other family relationship difficulties. We will start with an initial assessment and make a plan for your family’s needs.

If you are not sure whether or not you, your child, or your family can benefit from counselling, please feel free to reach out; we are happy to answer any questions you might have. The initial assessment is also an opportunity to talk about your concerns and to determine what the best plan.

Fees - Session fees with our social workers are $155-$165 depending on clinician's education and experience. Session fees with our psychologists are $235. Many insurance companies do provide some coverage counselling; if you are uncertain if you have benefits for counselling or if social work or psychology is covered we would encourage you to contact your insurance provider to ask. We are unable to direct bill with insurance companies. This means you will be responsible for payment at the time of the session, and then we will send you a receipt that can be used for reimbursement. We are able to direct bill if you have NIHB (non-insured health benefits) and with some other specific programs.

If you have concerns about accessing counselling due to financial barriers, please take a look at our FLY (Free/Low Cost Youth) Therapy Program (on our website). We also use a sliding scale for those with financial barriers who might not qualify for the FLY Therapy Program. Please call or email to discuss.
