More Information
Our Preteen Wise Minds Group is structured to be an ongoing monthly skills group for parents and youth to attend together. The group is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) both of which are evidence based treatment modalities. CBT is recognized as a first line of treatment for anxiety in children and teens. DBT is effective for mood disorders, interpersonal difficulties, and a number of other mental health presentations. A group-based format can be beneficial for preteens who have mild or moderate presentations. For those with more severe presentations, the group can be helpful alongside individual therapy as well as other supports.Â
